    他指出，台灣3千公尺以上的大山超過200座，有100座被稱為台灣百岳，過去很多山友都到過玉山，今天陪同他登頂的包括前衛生署長葉金川夫婦、嘉義縣、嘉義市、南投縣警察局同仁、國安局特勤總隊等，玉山國家公園管理處更是幫助他完成這個創舉，他希望民眾都能多登玉山，讓全世界知道台灣有一座在東亞最高的玉山，高達3,952公尺。
